대여위치의 이용약관
- The minimum age for the Renter and each Additional Driver is 23 years. The maximum permitted age for rental is 75 years. Drivers aged 65 to 75 years are required to provide a valid medical certificate or letter issued by a registered medical practitioner confirming that the driver is medically fit to drive a motor vehicle. The medical certificate or letter must be presented to AVIS Malaysia upon request prior to commencement of the rental. AVIS Malaysia reserves the right to refuse a rental or the registration of an Additional Driver where the required medical confirmation is not provided or where the driver does not otherwise satisfy AVIS Malaysia’s driver qualification requirements. The medical certification requirement for drivers aged 65 to 75 years is an AVIS Malaysia rental requirement and does not represent a general age-based medical certification requirement imposed by the Road Transport Department Malaysia (JPJ). All drivers must hold a valid driving licence appropriate for the class of vehicle rented and comply with all applicable Malaysian laws and regulations.
- The Renter and each Additional Driver must meet AVIS Malaysia’s applicable age requirements and must hold a valid and current driving licence appropriate for the class of vehicle rented. Malaysian Driving Licences Malaysian drivers must present a valid driving licence recognised by the Road Transport Department Malaysia (JPJ). Probationary Driving Licence (PDL) holders are not accepted for rental. Foreign Driving Licences and International Driving Permit (IDP) Foreign drivers must present their original and valid domestic driving licence. The recognition and use of foreign driving licences in Malaysia are subject to applicable Malaysian laws, international road traffic conventions and driving-licence recognition agreements. The following requirements apply: 1. ASEAN Driving Licence Holders Under the Agreement on the Recognition of Domestic Driving Licences Issued by ASEAN Countries, Kuala Lumpur, 9 July 1985, drivers holding a valid domestic driving licence issued by Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand or Vietnam may use their valid domestic driving licence in Malaysia without an International Driving Permit (IDP), subject to the applicable requirements of the Malaysian authorities. The domestic driving licence must be valid and in a language that can be understood. Where necessary, AVIS Malaysia may require an official English or Bahasa Malaysia translation and/or other supporting documentation. 2. Foreign Driving Licence Holders - International Driving Permit (IDP) Foreign drivers from countries recognised under the applicable international road traffic conventions must present: their original and valid domestic driving licence; and a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) issued by the relevant authorised authority in their home country. This includes countries participating in either of the following international road traffic conventions recognised for this purpose by the Malaysian authorities: Convention on Road Traffic, Geneva, 19 September 1949 (1949 Geneva Convention); or Convention on Road Traffic, Vienna, 8 November 1968 (1968 Vienna Convention). Countries participating under these international road traffic frameworks include major source markets such as the United Kingdom, United States of America, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Republic of Korea (South Korea), Spain, Switzerland and United Arab Emirates, among others. The applicable type of IDP may depend on the country in which the domestic driving licence was issued and the international convention applicable to that country. Drivers are responsible for obtaining the appropriate and valid IDP from the authorised issuing authority in their home country prior to driving in Malaysia. The IDP must correspond with the domestic driving licence and must be valid for the applicable rental period. An IDP is a supporting driving document and does not replace the domestic driving licence. An IDP presented without the corresponding original and valid domestic driving licence will not be accepted for rental purposes. For the avoidance of doubt, membership of the Commonwealth does not by itself exempt a driver from the requirement to hold an IDP. Drivers from Commonwealth countries must comply with the applicable Malaysian requirements for their country of licence issuance. For example, holders of a United Kingdom driving licence are required to present their valid UK driving licence together with the appropriate IDP for driving in Malaysia. 3. Countries with Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRA) Where Malaysia has entered into a Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) for the Recognition of Driving Licences with another country, a driver holding a valid domestic driving licence issued by that country may use the licence in Malaysia in accordance with the requirements and conditions of the applicable MRA. Under such an arrangement, the domestic driving licence may be recognised directly without the requirement to obtain a Malaysian driving licence or an International Driving Permit (IDP), where permitted under the applicable MRA. The driving licence must be valid and must authorise the driver to operate the class or type of vehicle being rented. AVIS Malaysia may require the Renter or Additional Driver to provide identification and/or other supporting documentation necessary to verify the validity, authenticity and eligibility of the foreign driving licence. Countries covered by Mutual Recognition Agreements and the applicable requirements may be amended from time to time by the Malaysian authorities. Temporary Foreign Drivers Foreign nationals who are temporarily in Malaysia for a period of less than 12 months may drive in Malaysia using the applicable foreign driving licence and/or International Driving Permit (IDP), subject to the requirements prescribed by the Malaysian authorities and the relevant international convention, ASEAN agreement or Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA). Foreign nationals who do not fall within the applicable foreign driving licence recognition arrangements, or who are otherwise required under Malaysian law to obtain a Malaysian driving licence, must hold an appropriate and valid Malaysian driving licence before being permitted to rent or drive an AVIS Malaysia vehicle. Identification Requirements The Renter and each Additional Driver must also present a valid passport, MyKad or other identification document acceptable to AVIS Malaysia at the time of rental. All driving licences, IDPs, identification documents and other supporting documents presented must be original, valid and current at the commencement of the rental. AVIS Malaysia reserves the right to request additional documentation or to refuse a rental or the registration of an Additional Driver where the required driving licence, IDP, identification document or supporting documentation: cannot be satisfactorily verified; is invalid, expired, suspended or otherwise not legally effective; does not authorise the driver to operate the class or type of vehicle being rented; or does not comply with applicable Malaysian laws, regulations or AVIS Malaysia’s driver qualification requirements.
