- No Smoking & Vehicle Cleanliness Policy Smoking is strictly prohibited inside all rental vehicles. Any violation of this policy may result in a cleaning and restoration fee, ranging from USD 50.00 to USD 250.00, depending on the extent of damage or odor affecting the vehicle’s interior. Additionally, in cases of excessive dirt, mud, or humidity inside the vehicle, additional cleaning charges may be applied at Avis Belize’s discretion, based on the severity of the condition.
- At this location the minimum age is 25 and maximum age id 65. Renters between 21-24 years are subject to a young driver fee of 50.00 USD per rental for all car groups.
- At the time of rental, the driver must present a valid driver's license in the driver's name from their country of residence. Customers presenting a driver's license in a non-Roman alphabet must also present an International Driving Permit (IDP) to serve as a translation in addition to their valid drivers license.

- Avis Belize accepts Avis Charge Cards, American Express, Discover Card, Mastercard / Access / Eurocard, Visa. Additional Credit Card Hold: The estimated rental charges plus the minimum amount of 1000.00 USD. Note: Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles. Customers are advised to contact their card issuer prior to the rental to confirm coverage details. Any waiver must be discussed directly with the rental location upon arrival. In cases where the renter relies on third-party insurance coverage, the renter will be required to pay the full amount of any damages prior to the completion of the rental agreement, pending reimbursement from their insurance provider.
- Public liability insurance is in accordance with the insurance laws of the country. Customer may inquire at the time of rental for additional information of the benefits, conditions and acceptance. - Vehicles rented from Avis Belize are strictly intended for use within the territory of Belize. Cross-border travel or approaching any international border is not permitted under any circumstances. Avis Belize does not issue temporary or exceptional permits to take vehicles outside the country. If a vehicle is driven beyond or near a border area in violation of this policy, Avis Belize reserves the right to immediately terminate the rental agreement and take any necessary action to recover the vehicle.
- Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) is Optional Provides full coverage in case of accident or damage to the vehicle with zero deductible, subject to a police report and completion of the insurance claim form. Does not cover wheels, tires, glass (unless accident-related), tools, accessories, or mechanical damage due to misuse. Theft Protection (TP) is included in the LDW Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is Optional Purchase of CDW reduces liability to 3000.00 USD in the event of an accident, collision, or theft to the Avis vehicle. Customer is liable for full value of the Avis vehicle if CDW is declined. Note: If you require additional insurance coverage you may purchase locally to reduce/remove the insurance excess. Just ask at the Avis rental desk when you collect your car. Global insurance coverages are always subject to change. Please verify at time of rental. NOTE: All insurance coverages (LDW, CDW, PAI, ALI & WTC) apply only to the drivers registered on the rental agreement and require the presentation of a traffic accident report in case of an incident. By signing the rental agreement, the renter acknowledges and accepts the terms, conditions, and responsibilities of the selected insurance options in accordance with national laws. Declining any of the available coverages implies that the renter assumes full responsibility for any damages caused to third parties or to the Avis Belize vehicle, authorizing Avis Belize (Transport and Tourism Promotor Ltd.) to proceed accordingly. In the event of damages, the renter shall be required to settle any monetary indemnification locally before departing the country.
